ACT 50 cm DisplayPort Cable Male - DisplayPort Male Power

ACT 50 cm DisplayPort Cable Male - DisplayPort Male Power | A short link between DisplayPort sockets

Without a short cable, connecting two nearby pieces of DisplayPort equipment can leave excess cable to manage. The ACT 50 cm DisplayPort Cable has a male DisplayPort connector at each end, making it suited to a direct connection between equipment with matching DisplayPort sockets. Its compact length is most useful when the devices sit close together and a longer run would add slack rather than reach. It’s a straightforward option for a fixed, nearby setup; the main thing to get right is the distance between the sockets. Measure the route you plan to use, allowing for how the cable needs to sit, before choosing a 50 cm cable. The product title also includes “Power”; that’s part of its name, rather than a detail I’d use to infer an extra function.

This is a deliberately short cable, so it makes sense to think about placement first. If the two devices are side by side or close on the same desk, 50 cm may suit the connection without leaving a long loop. If the cable needs to travel around a monitor stand, behind furniture, or across a wider gap, the available length can be the deciding factor. The male-to-male format is equally specific: both ends have DisplayPort plugs, so it’s intended for a connection to DisplayPort sockets on the equipment. That keeps the choice simple, but it does mean the cable isn’t a general-purpose lead for other connector types. Match the connection at both ends and the distance you need; those are the useful checks for this particular ACT cable.
