ACT USB 2.0 A Male - USB B Male 1.00m

ACT USB 2.0 A Male - USB B Male 1.00m | A direct link between USB A and USB B ports

It’s frustrating to have the right device and a free USB port, but no cable with the matching ends. This ACT cable connects a USB A port to a USB B port, with a male connector at each end. It’s a straightforward option when the equipment you want to connect has those two port types and you need a 1.00m cable. The USB 2.0 designation is part of its specification; the title doesn’t give a transfer speed, so I wouldn’t choose it on an assumed speed figure. Its stated length makes it suited to a connection where a metre is enough to reach between the two ports. The key thing is the connector match: this is an A-to-B cable, rather than a cable with the same plug at both ends. If that’s the link you need, its purpose is refreshingly clear.

Check the connection you need

Before choosing a cable, look at the actual ports on the two pieces of equipment. One end here is USB A male and the other is USB B male, so the ports need to accept those respective plugs. The names can be easy to skim past when you’re shopping, but they matter more than the cable’s general USB label. Also consider the route between the ports: 1.00m gives you a fixed reach, so it’s worth thinking about where the connected equipment will sit. This is a simple way to narrow down whether the cable matches your setup without relying on a guessed device list or assumptions about what you plan to connect. If the port types and cable length suit your arrangement, the product name gives you the essential details at a glance.
