ACT USB 3.2 GEN2 OTG Cable C Male - A Female 0.2m Zip Bag
ACT USB 3.2 GEN2 OTG Cable C Male - A Female 0.2m Zip Bag | A Short Link Between USB-C and USB-A
At a desk, you may have a USB-A accessory close by but only a USB-C OTG port available on the device you want to connect it to. This ACT cable provides that change of connector: a USB-C male plug at one end and a USB-A female socket at the other. It’s a short 0.2m cable, so the connection stays close rather than leaving a long loop of cable across your workspace. The OTG designation makes it suited to connecting a compatible USB-A device to a compatible USB-C host for uses such as accessing files from USB-A storage. Its stated interface is USB 3.2 Gen 2, useful when that’s the standard you need for the connection. This is a simple, specific adapter cable, rather than a hub with several ports. It comes in a zip bag for keeping it together between uses.
Specialist Note
The 0.2m length keeps this cable tucked close to the connected devices, which is handy when you’re moving files at a desk and don’t want spare cable in the way. I’d use it to connect USB-A storage to a USB-C device that supports OTG; the female USB-A end accepts the storage device’s plug, while the male USB-C end goes into the host. The USB 3.2 Gen 2 designation tells you which interface standard the cable is labelled for, though the connected devices also need to support the standard for it to matter. One thing to keep in mind: this short lead gives you little reach, and it won’t add OTG support to a device that lacks it.
