B&W Foam Type 6500
B&W Foam Type 6500 | Protective storage for camera gear
For transporting or storing camera gear when knocks, dust or rain are a concern, a hard case gives you a more protective way to move it than carrying equipment exposed. The B&W Foam Type 6500 is a hard case for camera owners who want their gear kept together and protected during handling or between uses. It suits people moving equipment between locations, as well as those who want a dedicated place to store it. Its purpose is practical rather than quick access: put your gear away for the journey or for storage, then open the case when you’re ready to work. The supplier positions it for situations where equipment needs to withstand knocks, dust or rain. That makes the 6500 relevant when conditions around your kit are less than gentle. It’s protection-oriented storage, not a reason to handle equipment carelessly.
For moving and storing equipment
At home, use the case as a dedicated place to put your gear away; on the move, pack what you need before setting off. Its value is the added protection around equipment during transport and storage. It’s less suited to situations where you need to reach into your kit every few minutes, so plan to open it when you’re ready to use what’s inside.
Specialist Note
For rougher transport, this case gives your gear a hard outer case rather than leaving it loose or exposed. I’d consider it for a camera owner who needs to store equipment between jobs or move it through places where dust, rain or knocks are a concern. The hard-case format makes protection the priority, so pack what you’ll need before setting off and open it when you reach your work area. Its intended use also suits keeping gear put away at home, not just carrying it around. One point to bear in mind: it’s a case, not a substitute for careful handling, and it won’t suit someone who needs constant access while on the move.
