Cartoni AH106 Flat/Mitchell Base Leveller
Cartoni AH106 Flat/Mitchell Base Leveller | Level your camera platform
Get a level camera platform without relying solely on the position of the tripod legs. The Cartoni AH106 Flat/Mitchell Base Leveller is a tripod accessory for setups built around a Flat or Mitchell base. It’s intended for camera operators who need to correct the base level as part of setting up their shot, especially when shifting the tripod itself would disturb a carefully placed position. A level platform helps keep a static composition’s horizon straight and gives you a sound starting point before framing. Use it when setting up a locked-off interview or a carefully composed scene: establish the tripod position, level the base, then frame the shot. The AH106 is a focused piece of support equipment, not a tripod or camera head. Its value is in addressing levelling at the base of the setup.
Specialist Note
The Flat/Mitchell base is the detail to pay attention to: the AH106 is a leveller for that base arrangement, so you can correct the platform without treating tripod-leg placement as your only adjustment. For a locked-off interview, set the tripod where the shot needs it, level the base, then compose; that helps keep the frame’s horizon straight. It also suits a fixed scene where moving a leg could shift your carefully placed framing. The AH106 is the model number to use when identifying this specific Cartoni accessory. It has a focused role, so think of it as a levelling aid, not a replacement for the tripod or head.
