Caruba 150mm Magic Arm Extra Tough (w/ Inner Ball)
Caruba 150mm Magic Arm Extra Tough (w/ Inner Ball) | Position an accessory without moving your tripod
Without an arm, changing an accessory’s position can mean shifting the tripod or settling for an awkward spot. The Caruba 150mm Magic Arm Extra Tough (w/ Inner Ball) is a tripod accessory for adding a short, adjustable positioning link to a setup. It suits photographers who want to place an accessory slightly away from the tripod rather than rearranging the whole support. That can help when you’re composing a tabletop scene, or when the space around your tripod is tight and a direct placement would get in the way. Its appeal is the small amount of reach and adjustment it brings to a setup, not a long extension or a replacement for a tripod. The product name points to a 150 mm arm with an inner ball, while “Extra Tough” identifies this version. Keep your expectations practical: this is for close positioning changes, where a little extra room or a different angle is what you need.
Specialist Note
At a 150 mm offset, I’d use this arm to move a small accessory just clear of the tripod, then angle it toward the part of the scene that needs attention. The short size is useful on a tabletop arrangement, where a longer arm could take up space or get in the way. Its inner ball is there to help with fine angle adjustment, so you can aim the accessory without shifting the tripod itself. The Extra Tough designation makes this the version to consider if you want a sturdier-feeling arm in your setup. It’s still a short arm, though; choose it for close positioning, not for reaching across a large gap.
