DZOFILM Pavo 2X Anamorphic Prime Macro 65mm T2.8-BLUE Coating - Pl&ef Mount (FT)
DZOFILM Pavo 2X Anamorphic Prime Macro 65mm T2.8 Blue Coating – Canon EF | Close-up images with an anamorphic look
The DZOFILM Pavo combines a 2X anamorphic design with macro use, giving filmmakers a way to bring close subjects into an intentionally wide, cinematic frame. It suits cinematographers and content makers who want to film product details or nature at close range, while keeping a distinct anamorphic visual character. The 65mm focal length gives you a considered perspective for framing small subjects, and the blue coating offers a defined blue-coloured flare character. Because the lens is anamorphic, plan for a desqueeze step in your image workflow so the footage displays with natural proportions. This is a specialist prime rather than a general-purpose lens: its appeal is strongest when close-up subject matter and the anamorphic look are both part of the brief. If that’s the kind of image you’re building, this Pavo brings those aims together in one Canon EF-mount lens.
Specialist Note
The DZOFILM Pavo 2X Anamorphic Prime Macro 65mm is at its best when close subjects need a deliberate widescreen character. T2.8 gives you a usable exposure starting point for controlled product setups; for crisp detail across a small object, add light and stop down if your exposure allows. Manual focus means you can make careful adjustments rather than rely on autofocus, which is useful when fine details are your subject. I’d consider it for a filmed product close-up or a carefully framed nature detail, with time set aside to focus and desqueeze the footage. It’s a focused tool, not the lens I’d reach for when speed matters more than deliberate framing.
