Eminent USB 2.0 Connection Cable A Male - USB B Male 3 Meters

Eminent USB 2.0 Connection Cable A Male - USB B Male 3 Meters | More room between matching USB ports

Give connected equipment a little more room to sit where you need it. This Eminent cable is 3 metres long, with a USB A male connector at one end and a USB B male connector at the other. It’s for anyone whose devices have those matching ports and who needs a cable between them, rather than a shorter reach. The USB 2.0 connection is the defining detail; the product name doesn’t specify a transfer rate, so I wouldn’t choose it on a speed assumption. Its practical advantage is straightforward: the extra length gives you more flexibility in where the connected items are placed. That can make a desk or work area easier to arrange when the ports aren’t right beside each other. Before buying, compare the connector shapes at both ends of the connection you need. This is a specific A-to-B cable, not a cable with two identical ends.

Choosing the right cable

Start with the ports on the two pieces of equipment you want to connect. One needs to accept a USB A male plug and the other a USB B male plug; the ends aren’t interchangeable. It’s worth looking at the actual port rather than relying on a device’s general USB description, since the connector type is what determines whether this cable can make the physical connection. Then consider the route between the devices. At 3 metres, there’s more reach to work with than a short lead provides, but it still makes sense to think about where the equipment will sit and how the cable will run. A cable that’s longer than necessary can leave spare length to manage; one that’s too short limits placement. Keep the choice simple: match both ports and choose the length for the space you have.
