Filmsticks Timecode Clapper Sticks Medium 11”

Filmsticks Timecode Clapper Sticks Medium 11” | A clear cue for timecode-led takes

At the start of a take, a clapper cue gives the crew a shared moment to reference in the recorded scene. Filmsticks Timecode Clapper Sticks Medium 11” are made for studio work where clapper sticks are used as part of a timecode workflow. The 11-inch size is the defining detail, making this a specific medium-format option rather than an unspecified set of sticks. It suits camera and sound crews who want a visible cue at the start of a take and need clapper sticks for their production setup. Their role is practical: help create a recognisable moment that can be related to the recording. They’re focused equipment, not a general studio accessory with several unrelated uses.

How they fit into a take

On a production, the clapper action is a simple point of coordination: the crew can see the cue, and the recording captures the moment it happens. That gives the team a visual reference to work with when reviewing footage and aligning the action of a take with its recorded sound. These sticks are identified specifically for timecode use, so they belong in workflows where that context matters. The product name doesn’t describe a complete slate or any additional components, so the clearest way to think of it is as clapper sticks for the job, rather than a full slate package. It’s a straightforward piece of studio kit, with its size and intended timecode context doing most of the describing. If you’re choosing sticks for a setup, the medium 11-inch format is the point to weigh against the space and working style on your set.
