Formatt Hitech 105mm TH Ring For Pol/Hood For 100mm H.SYS.
Formatt Hitech 105mm TH Ring For Pol/Hood For 100mm H.SYS. | A dedicated ring for polarizer and hood use
The defining detail is the 105mm TH ring format: this is the ring specified for polarizer and hood use with the Formatt Hitech 100mm H.SYS. That makes it a component for photographers building around that filter system, rather than a filter in its own right. Its value is in matching the polarizer/hood setup to the named system, so you can choose the right part for that configuration instead of treating rings as interchangeable. It’s particularly relevant for landscape work, where a polarizer can help control reflections from water or foliage, and a hood can be part of the same setup. Keep the 105mm designation in mind when selecting this ring; the title ties it to a 100mm H.SYS., not to every 100mm filter arrangement. If your kit uses that system and you need the ring specified for its polarizer and hood, this is the purpose-built part to consider.
Specialist Note
Photographers framing lakes, wet leaves or broad skies are the people I’d point toward this ring. The 105mm TH designation gives you a clear identifier when you’re choosing the part for a polarizer/hood setup; match it to the stated 100mm H.SYS. rather than assuming another ring will do. For reflections on water or foliage, use a polarizer in the setup and turn the filter while watching the reflection change. The ring itself doesn’t create that effect—it’s there for the polarizer and hood arrangement. That’s the honest distinction: this is a system component, not a polarizing filter on its own.
