Formatt Hitech FC 95mm Superslim Uncoated Stackable Cir.pol.
Formatt Hitech FC 95mm Superslim Uncoated Stackable Cir.pol. | Control reflections and glare
The defining choice is the superslim profile: it keeps the filter rim low, which can be helpful when you’re building a filter setup or composing with a wide view. This is a 95mm circular polarizing filter for photographers who want hands-on control over reflections and glare. Turn the filter as you compose to adjust the polarizing effect; it can reduce reflections from surfaces such as water or glass and deepen a blue sky. The uncoated construction is part of this filter’s straightforward design, while its stackable format lets it be used as part of a layered filter setup. It’s best suited to outdoor scenes where reflected light is getting in the way of colour or detail, and to landscape work where you want to adjust the sky’s appearance in-camera. Choose it for a 95mm filter setup where that control matters.
Specialist Note
The effect is easy to judge as you work: turn the filter while looking through the viewfinder, and stop when reflections ease without losing the look of the scene. Its 95mm format makes this one for a matching filter setup, so it’s worth thinking about the lens you plan to use it on. The superslim edge is a practical touch if you’re stacking filters or working with a wide composition. I’d use it to tame reflections on water, or to give a clear sky more depth; rotate it slowly and compare the view as you go. One trade-off: polarization costs light, so allow for a slower shutter speed or a higher ISO in dim conditions.
