Freewell 62mm Base Ring Cap For Real Locking VND

Freewell 62mm Base Ring Cap For Real Locking VND | Keep your filter setup covered

Unlike a general-purpose filter cap, this Freewell cap is named for a specific part of a filter setup: the base ring used with the Real Locking VND. It suits photographers who use that system and want a cap for the ring when the filter isn’t in use. The 62mm size identifies the version, while the product name points to the setup it’s intended for—helpful details when matching an accessory to your kit. Use it between shooting sessions or while packing away your filter setup, rather than leaving the base ring exposed in your camera bag. It’s a small, purpose-specific accessory, not another filter or an exposure control. If you use the Real Locking VND system, this gives you a clearly identified cap for its base ring; if you don’t, the name offers no reason to assume it’ll suit your setup.

Matching it to your setup

For this accessory, the system name matters as much as the size. “62mm” tells you which version you’re considering, and “For Real Locking VND” identifies the intended filter setup. Keeping both parts of the name in view helps avoid choosing a cap based on diameter alone. It’s a focused accessory for keeping the matching base ring capped when you’ve taken the filter off or are putting your kit away. That specific purpose is useful if you want the parts of your VND setup kept together and easy to identify.
