Freewell Osmo Pocket 4p ND16 Filter - Black
Freewell Osmo Pocket 4p ND16 Filter - Black | Four stops less light in bright scenes
The defining choice is the ND16 density: it cuts the light reaching the camera by four stops, giving you more room to manage exposure in bright conditions. This Freewell filter is named for the Osmo Pocket 4p and suits people filming outdoors who want more control over how motion looks, rather than letting strong daylight dictate a very fast shutter. For walking footage, moving water or other scenes where you’d like motion to look less abruptly frozen, that reduction can help you choose a slower shutter speed while keeping exposure in check. It’s a specific-strength filter, so its value is clearest when the light is plentiful; in dim conditions, reducing the light further may work against you. The black finish keeps the filter’s appearance simple. If your Osmo Pocket 4p footage often takes place in bright daylight, ND16 gives you a straightforward way to rein in the light.
Specialist Note
Late-afternoon sun catches the surface of a canal, and every bright reflection matters in the frame. For that kind of scene, I’d consider this ND16: its four-stop reduction gives you room to use a slower shutter and keep movement looking natural instead of sharply frozen. It’s aimed at Osmo Pocket 4p users who film outdoors in strong light, especially when water or walking movement is part of the shot. The black finish is a quiet, practical look. One limitation to keep in mind: ND16 takes away a substantial amount of light, so it makes more sense in bright scenes than in a shaded or indoor setting.
