Freewell Osmo Pocket 4p ND64/PL Filter - Black

Freewell Osmo Pocket 4p ND64/PL Filter - Black | Tame bright light and reflections

The defining feature of this Freewell filter is its combination of ND64 light reduction and polarisation in one filter for the Osmo Pocket 4p. It suits Pocket users filming or taking photos outdoors when bright conditions and reflected glare both affect the scene. ND64 cuts the incoming light by six stops, helping control exposure in strong daylight; the PL element can reduce reflections from surfaces such as water or glass. That makes it especially relevant for waterside footage, sunny street scenes and other situations where glare distracts from the subject. It’s a specialised filter rather than an everyday solution: six stops is a substantial reduction, so it’s most useful when light is plentiful. The black finish keeps the look understated, while the combined ND and polarising functions mean you can address two common outdoor challenges with one filter.

Where this filter helps

For a reflective surface, adjust the polarising angle while watching the image to find where glare is reduced most. The effect depends on your angle to the surface, so it may be less pronounced from some viewpoints. In bright sun, the ND64 reduction is useful when you need to limit the light reaching the camera. In shade or fading light, that much reduction can be too strong.
