Freewell Real Locking Variable ND/CPL Filter All Day Kit
Freewell Real Locking Variable ND/CPL Filter All Day Kit | Two filter effects in one
Without a combined filter, controlling light and reducing reflections usually means reaching for separate filters. The Freewell Real Locking Variable ND/CPL Filter All Day Kit brings those two jobs together: variable ND adjusts the light reaching the camera, while CPL helps manage reflected glare. That makes it relevant when you want more control over exposure and reflections without switching between those filter types. It suits photographers and filmmakers working with scenes where light or reflections affect the result, such as moving water, bright outdoor views or reflective surfaces. The useful distinction is that these are two different effects, not two names for the same adjustment. The locking feature is there to hold your chosen setting in place. If your work often moves between controlling light and handling reflections, this kit offers both functions in one product; it’s a focused tool rather than a general-purpose camera accessory.
Specialist Note
The CPL effect depends on your angle to the light, so it won’t remove reflections equally from every position. Even so, the appeal here is having two distinct functions—variable ND and CPL—in one filter kit. I’d consider it for filming moving water: adjust the ND effect to control the light, then use the CPL function to manage glare on the surface. For a view through glass, work on the reflection with the CPL, and use the variable ND if you also need to reduce incoming light. The Real Locking feature is useful when you’ve settled on an adjustment and want it to stay put. It suits someone who values both kinds of control in the same product.
