GREEN.L CPL 72mm
GREEN.L CPL 72mm | Control reflections and enrich skies
Without a polarizing filter, reflections from water or glass can compete with the subject, and a bright sky may look pale in a photograph. The GREEN.L CPL 72mm is a circular polarizing filter for photographers who want more control over those effects while composing a shot. Turn the filter to adjust how strongly it affects reflected light: this can reduce glare on non-metallic surfaces and give a blue sky more depth, depending on the light and your shooting angle. It’s worth considering for landscapes, scenes with water, and photographs through shop windows, where reflections can obscure detail. The 72mm size is intended for a lens with a matching 72mm filter thread. A polarizer won’t remove every reflection, and its effect changes with the position of the camera relative to the light. It’s a practical tool when you want to shape what the lens records as you take the picture, rather than relying on editing later.
Specialist Note
Will the GREEN.L CPL 72mm help with reflections in a window? Yes, it can reduce reflections from glass when you turn the filter while looking at your composition. I’d suggest it for shopfronts or scenes by the water, where glare can hide the detail you’re trying to photograph. CPL means circular polarizing filter; its effect is adjustable, so rotate it slowly and stop when the reflection is reduced without losing the look you want. The 72mm size matters at the lens: it suits a lens with a 72mm filter thread, not a different thread size. One limitation to keep in mind is that it won’t cancel every reflection, particularly reflections from metal.
