GREEN.L EW-63II Lens Hood For EF 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5 II USM
GREEN.L EW-63II Lens Hood For EF 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5 II USM | Helps control stray light on your zoom lens
In bright side light, a lens hood can help keep stray light from washing out contrast or creating flare in your pictures. The GREEN.L EW-63II is made for the EF 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5 II USM lens, so it’s a specific accessory for photographers using that zoom. It’s most useful outdoors or near bright light sources, especially when the light is coming from just beyond the edge of your frame. Fit the hood when you want to reduce the chance of unwanted light reaching the lens; take it off when you’d rather keep your setup without it. This is a simple, lens-specific addition, rather than a general accessory for a range of lenses. If that exact EF zoom is in your kit, the EW-63II gives you a straightforward way to manage stray light while you shoot.
Everyday use
Keep the hood fitted when moving between locations with changing light, or when composing toward a bright window or low sun. It can help reduce flare from light outside the frame, though it can’t remove flare caused by a light source inside your composition. The main reason to choose this model is its named pairing with the EF 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5 II USM; it’s intended for that lens, not as a one-size-fits-all hood. If you use that zoom regularly, it’s a practical accessory to have ready when the light turns awkward.
Specialist Note
The GREEN.L EW-63II is the lens-specific hood for limiting stray light with the EF 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5 II USM. At the 28mm end, I’d leave it on when bright light sits just outside your frame; at 105mm, it can be handy for outdoor portraits when light is coming across the front of the lens. The 28–105mm range makes this a match for that particular zoom, and the f/3.5–4.5 marking helps distinguish the lens version it’s named for. I’d choose it if that’s the zoom you use, rather than expecting it to suit other lenses. It’s a focused accessory, and that specific fit is the point.
