H&Y HD EVO-Series IRND1000 Filter Kit 95mm
H&Y HD EVO-Series IRND1000 Filter Kit 95mm | Longer exposures in bright light
Moving water can take on a soft blur, and bright daylight needn’t rule out a slower shutter speed. The H&Y HD EVO-Series IRND1000 Filter Kit is a neutral-density filter kit for photographers who want to reduce the light reaching the camera and make those longer exposures possible. It suits landscape work, architectural scenes and other situations where you want movement to show over time rather than freeze in a single instant. It can also help when you want to work with a wider aperture in bright conditions. The key is to choose the shutter speed for the effect you want, then use the filter to control the incoming light. It’s a specialist tool rather than an everyday filter: its value is greatest when you have a clear reason to use a slower exposure.
Specialist Note
The H&Y HD EVO-Series IRND1000 Filter Kit 95mm is made for giving you more room to use a slow shutter in bright conditions. The IRND1000 designation tells you this is a strong light-reducing filter, so it’s worth planning the exposure rather than expecting the same settings you’d use without it. For moving water, compose the scene, choose a slower shutter speed for the amount of blur you want, then use the filter to cut the light. The 95mm size is the detail to match to your lens’s filter thread; it’s the lens, not the camera body, that determines fit. I’d recommend it to someone who regularly plans long-exposure work, not as a general everyday filter.
