A director needs to check a camera feed while the camera operator keeps moving; the HOLLYLAND Pyro Video Transmission & Monitoring Kit (7 inch) brings a 7-inch touchscreen transceiver monitor together with a Pyro S 4K transmitter and receiver. The wireless link reaches up to 400 metres, and one Pyro 7 can send its signal to as many as four receivers. That makes the kit useful for sharing a live view with several people on a production, rather than limiting monitoring to one screen. HDMI and SDI input/output connections fit it into video setups using either connection type, while RTSP streaming adds a route for viewing the feed over a network. At a live event, a crew can send a camera signal to monitoring positions; on a set, a director and other team members can follow the same transmitted picture. The Pyro 7 also records video to an SD card, so it can capture a copy of the feed alongside transmission. Hollyland’s updated HollyOS imaging tools, automatic dual-band operation and automatic frequency hopping add useful control to a kit intended for both sending and checking video. It’s a substantial monitoring package, with a large screen and the transmitter and receiver included.

Video Workflow Features

• SD-card video recording: Record video directly to an SD card in the Pyro 7 monitor. A 32GB card is included, so there’s storage in the box for getting started.
• RTSP streaming: RTSP support gives the system a network-streaming option alongside its wireless video link. It’s useful when a production needs to share a feed through an RTSP workflow.
• Automatic dual-band operation: The system uses 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, with automatic dual-band hopping. This takes care of switching between the available bands as part of the transmission process.
• Automatic frequency hopping: The Pyro system can also change frequency automatically. That’s a helpful feature for a wireless video setup where keeping a usable link matters.
• HollyOS imaging tools: Updated HollyOS tools are part of the Pyro 7 monitoring experience. They give the operator image-checking functions directly on the monitor.
• Dual L-series battery plates: Two L-series battery plates provide the monitor’s battery mounting points. The kit also includes a 12V DC power adapter for powering the monitor from its supplied adapter.
