JJC F-8XSTAR77 Star Filter 77mm
JJC F-8XSTAR77 Star Filter 77mm | Add star effects to bright lights
The 77mm filter size is the defining choice here: it’s made for lenses with a matching 77mm filter thread, so you can add a star effect without changing lenses. The JJC F-8XSTAR77 is a star filter, intended to turn bright point lights into visible rays in the image. It suits photographers who want that effect to be part of the scene, rather than adding it later in editing. Think evening streets with lamps, festive lights, or a carefully composed scene with a bright light as an accent. The result depends on what’s in your frame: small, bright sources give the effect something clear to work with, while large areas of illumination won’t form the same distinct points. It’s a focused creative tool, not a general-purpose filter for changing the whole look of a scene.
Specialist Note
Bright point lights become a deliberate part of the picture with this filter, so you can compose around their star effect as you shoot. The 77mm size makes the key setup detail straightforward: use it on a lens with a 77mm filter thread, and you’re ready to frame the effect. I’d consider it for evening street scenes or festive lights; place individual lamps or bulbs in the composition and keep the surrounding scene darker so their rays read clearly. It’s for a particular look, so don’t expect broad illuminated surfaces to turn into crisp star points. If that’s the effect you want, this JJC has a clear purpose.
