JJC F-ND6x82 MRC Pro ND Filter (6 Stops) 82mm
JJC F-ND6x82 MRC Pro ND Filter (6 Stops) 82mm | Slow shutter speeds in bright light
JJC F-ND6x82 MRC Pro ND Filter (6 Stops) 82mm cuts the light reaching your lens by six stops, giving you more room to use slower shutter speeds or wider apertures in bright conditions. It’s for photographers with a lens that takes an 82mm filter who want to control exposure without having to wait for softer light. The six-stop reduction is useful for giving moving water a smoother look or showing movement in clouds while keeping your chosen aperture and ISO. It can also help you use a wider aperture outdoors when the available light would otherwise require a smaller one. This is a specific-strength ND filter, so it suits situations where six stops is the reduction you need; it won’t let you dial the density up or down. If that fits your way of working, it’s a straightforward tool for shaping exposure in daylight.
Specialist Note
Fit the filter and you can make a much slower exposure without waiting for the light to fade. The six-stop reduction gives you a practical shift: for example, a shutter speed of 1/500 sec becomes roughly 1/8 sec at the same aperture and ISO. That’s a useful starting point for softening the movement of a stream or adding motion to clouds. I’d point this out to someone with an 82mm lens who wants that effect in daylight, or who needs a wider aperture outdoors. The 82mm size is the key fit detail, so match it to the lens’s filter thread. One limitation: six stops is a fixed amount, not an adjustable range.
