The ND range gives you room to reduce light for slower shutter speeds, while the CPL function can help control reflections on water or glass and deepen the appearance of skies. Specialist Note
This filter combines exposure reduction and polarising in one piece, so you can address bright light and reflections without swapping between two filters. I’d suggest it to someone photographing a stream in daylight: at ND64, the six-stop reduction can turn a 1/60 sec exposure into about one second, helping flowing water blur while the CPL can reduce reflected glare. The 55 mm size means it’s for a lens with a matching 55 mm filter thread. It’s also handy when filming outdoors and aiming for more natural motion blur. One point to keep in mind: the ND range is limited to its stated span, so it won’t cover every extreme-light situation.
