Konus Binocular Emperor 12x50 WP/Wa w/ Phasecoating

Konus Binocular Emperor 12x50 WP/Wa w/ Phasecoating | A closer view of distant subjects

The defining choice is the 12x50 format: 12x magnification paired with 50 mm objective lenses. It gives the Emperor a strong emphasis on bringing distant subjects closer, making it a sensible format for wildlife watching, viewing across open landscapes or taking in details at a distance. The name also specifies phase coating and the WP/Wa designation; I’ve kept those as model details rather than reading extra features into them. If your main interest is observing subjects that are far away, this Konus binocular is more relevant than a low-magnification model intended for a broad, easy-to-scan view. Do bear in mind that higher magnification makes small hand movements more noticeable. A steady stance helps when you’re looking for a detail and want to keep it in view.

Who this format suits

This Emperor is aimed at viewers who want extra reach from a binocular, rather than a wide overview for quickly scanning a nearby scene. It can make sense for watching activity across a field, checking a distant point on a trail or studying wildlife without approaching it. Those are practical uses of the stated magnification, not a claim that the binocular has a particular field of view or special outdoor protection. For a longer observation, take a moment to brace your arms or lean against something stable; at 12x, that simple habit can make it easier to hold a subject in view. The 50 mm figure is the objective-lens diameter, while “Phasecoating” and “WP/Wa” are included here exactly as named in the product title.
