Laowa OOOM 25-100 T2.9 Front Lens Cap
Laowa OOOM 25-100 T2.9 Front Lens Cap | Cover the lens between takes
When the Laowa OOOM comes off your camera for a reset, or goes into its case between setups, its front element needs a cover. This front lens cap is made for owners of the Laowa OOOM 25-100 T2.9 who want a straightforward way to cover the lens when it’s not in use. It’s especially handy on a production where the lens is regularly put down, packed away or moved between camera setups: fit the cap when you’re finished, then remove it before filming again. Its purpose is simple and specific. It’s a front cap for this named Laowa lens, not an extra control or an optical accessory, so it won’t change how the lens renders an image. If you use the OOOM, this is the small protective accessory to keep with it when the front of the lens needs covering.
Specialist Note
An uncovered front element is one more thing to worry about while the camera is being packed or reset; this cap gives the Laowa OOOM a cover during those pauses. The 25–100 mm range lets you work from a wider view to a tighter detail without changing lenses, so I’d keep the cap close by for the moments that lens leaves the camera. Its T2.9 designation is useful when you’re planning exposure for a take; the cap comes into play when the lens is resting, not while you’re shooting. It suits OOOM owners who want a simple front cover for storage and breaks. Just remember, it covers the front of the lens, not the whole lens.
