Leofoto L Plate For Canon 1DXII w/ Battery Grip
Leofoto L Plate For Canon 1DXII w/ Battery Grip | Change orientation without tilting the head
You’re framing a portrait on a tripod, then want to switch back to landscape without tipping the camera sideways. That’s the situation an L plate is made to help with. This Leofoto tripod accessory is identified for the Canon 1DXII with battery grip, so it’s intended for photographers using that camera setup who want to change orientation while keeping the camera supported on a tripod. The L-shaped plate gives you a mounting position for each orientation; with a compatible tripod head, you can move between them without relying on the head’s side tilt. That can make it easier to keep your framing level and your camera more centrally positioned above the support. It’s a focused accessory rather than a general-purpose camera plate: its appeal is the specific Canon 1DXII with battery grip fit and the practical option of portrait or landscape framing from a tripod.
Specialist Note
The L-shaped profile gives you a separate mounting position for portrait framing, so you can turn the camera without leaning it over on the tripod head. This plate is named for the Canon 1DXII with battery grip; that specific pairing matters, because the grip is part of the setup it’s intended to suit. I’d consider it if you regularly alternate between horizontal compositions and vertical portraits on a tripod—for example, landscapes followed by portrait-format details. Keep the head level, then use the appropriate side of the plate for the orientation you need. It’s a specialist fit, so its value is in matching that particular camera-and-grip combination.
