Mcoplus Ext-RF Metal Extension Tubeset 12+20

Mcoplus Ext-RF Metal Extension Tubeset 12+20 | Get closer for detailed close-ups

For close-up photographs of small subjects, an extension tube lets you focus nearer and fill more of the frame with the detail you want to show. The Mcoplus Ext-RF Metal Extension Tubeset 12+20 is a metal extension tube set, named for its two extension values: 12 and 20. Extension tubes sit between a camera and a lens, increasing the distance between them so the lens can focus at a shorter distance. That makes this type of accessory useful when you want to explore close-up work without relying on a dedicated macro lens. It suits photographers who enjoy working carefully with small subjects and have a lens whose close-focusing range leaves them wanting to get nearer. The honest trade-off is that close focusing asks for a steady hand and careful placement; the tube helps you get closer, but it won’t choose the composition for you.

Extension tubes are a straightforward way to change the working distance for close-up photography. Rather than adding a new optical element, the tube creates space between the lens and camera. In practice, that means you can work with a subject at a nearer distance than the lens normally allows. It’s a simple idea, but it opens up different framing possibilities for details that can otherwise look small in the picture.

The 12+20 designation gives this set its defining detail: two different extension values in one product name. You can think about close-up work in terms of how much nearer you want to focus and how tightly you want to frame your subject. The right result depends on the lens and subject you’re using, so take time to focus and compose rather than expecting the tube alone to create a finished macro image.
