Meike MK-EFTR-GS Gold Streak Drop-In Filter
Meike MK-EFTR-GS Gold Streak Drop-In Filter | Give bright lights a golden streak look
Bright points of light can take on a gold-streak character in your pictures, adding a deliberate visual accent to a scene. The Meike MK-EFTR-GS is a drop-in filter named for that effect, giving photographers a way to bring this look into their images as part of their filter setup. It may appeal if you enjoy shaping the appearance of lights in a composition, rather than leaving them as simple bright spots. Think of night scenes, illuminated signs or a small lamp included in the frame: the filter’s purpose is to make that light a more noticeable part of the picture. The effect is the reason to choose this filter, so it’s best suited to photographs where a visible, stylised treatment of bright light is welcome. If you want an image to keep an unaltered look, this is a more specific creative tool than a general-purpose filter.
Specialist Note
The Meike MK-EFTR-GS Gold Streak Drop-In Filter has one clear job: give bright lights a gold-streak look. I’d point it out to someone who wants light itself to become part of the styling, rather than just illuminate the scene. Try composing with one bright point of light—a lamp or sign, for example—and keep the surrounding scene simple so the effect has room to read. Its drop-in format makes it a considered part of your filter setup, while “Gold Streak” tells you the look it’s intended to create. It’s a specific effect, not an all-purpose choice; I’d use it when that golden treatment suits the picture you’re making.
