Mentter Variable HD ND4-1000 95mm
Mentter Variable HD ND4-1000 95mm | Adjust light reduction for longer exposures
Bright daylight can make it hard to use a slower shutter speed or a wide aperture without overexposing your shot. The Mentter Variable HD ND4-1000 is a 95mm neutral density filter, made to reduce the light reaching your camera while you work. Its variable ND4-1000 range lets you adjust the amount of reduction rather than choosing a single fixed strength. That makes it useful for photographers who want to control motion in daylight, such as smoothing moving water, or who want to use a wider aperture in bright conditions. The 95mm size is for setups that take a filter of that diameter. If you regularly change between scenes or lighting levels, a variable filter can save you from swapping among several fixed ND filters. It’s a focused tool for managing exposure, not a general-purpose effect filter.
Specialist Note
For extending exposure time in changing daylight, this filter lets you vary the light reduction without changing to a different fixed-strength filter. I’d consider it for someone who wants to soften the movement of a stream or cloud cover: compose the shot, choose the shutter time that gives the motion you want, then adjust the filter’s ND strength to keep exposure under control. The ND4-1000 span gives you room to work across different light levels. Its 95mm diameter is the key practical limit: it suits a lens that takes a 95mm filter, so it’s a specific fit rather than a filter you can assume will fit every lens.
