Metabones Contax Yashica - X-Mount

Metabones Contax Yashica - X-Mount | A converter linking two mount types

You’ve got a Contax Yashica lens you’d like to use with an X-Mount camera. That’s the situation this Metabones converter is named for: it connects the Contax Yashica and X-Mount sides of your setup. It’s aimed at photographers who already own a lens in the first mount and want a converter for a camera in the second. The name gives you the key information for deciding whether it belongs in your kit: the two mounts, and the Metabones brand. Its appeal is specific rather than broad. If those are the mount names you need to join, this is the converter to look at; if not, it isn’t the match you’re after. I’d start by comparing the mount markings on the lens and camera with the product name, rather than choosing by brand alone.

That simple mount check matters because “Contax Yashica” and “X-Mount” describe the connection this product is intended to make; they aren’t interchangeable labels. The category is converter, so its role is to bridge those named mounts. The product title doesn’t give further detail about how it handles lens operation, so I wouldn’t assume particular functions from the name alone. For a photographer sorting through older lenses and accessories, the useful thing here is the clear pairing in the title. You can narrow your search to this exact combination, then decide whether it matches the lens and camera you have. It’s a focused accessory for a specific setup, not a general-purpose converter.
