Nedis Optical Audio Cable TosLink M-TosLink M 5.0m BK

Nedis Optical Audio Cable TosLink M-TosLink M 5.0m BK | A longer optical audio connection

You’re setting up audio equipment and the available sockets aren’t close together. This Nedis optical audio cable gives you a 5.0-metre run between a TosLink male connection at each end, so you can place the connected equipment farther apart than a short lead would allow. It’s suited to a setup where both devices have a matching TosLink socket and you want an optical audio connection between them. The cable is black, a straightforward colour to route alongside other dark cables or keep out of sight against a dark surface. Its useful point is the length: there’s room to plan a route around furniture rather than having to place everything side by side. Before setting up, measure the path the cable needs to take, including any detours around the room. That gives you a more realistic sense of whether five metres will reach comfortably.

Planning the cable run

A cable’s stated length is most useful when you think about the route, not just the straight-line distance between two pieces of equipment. Allow for the path from each socket to the point where the cable will run, and for any turns needed to reach the other device. That makes it easier to decide where the equipment can sit and where to guide the lead. Keep the route tidy and avoid placing equipment where it could pull on the connections. Those are simple setup considerations, but they can make a longer run easier to live with once everything is in position.

This model keeps the connection details clear: TosLink male at both ends, with a five-metre cable between them. Choose it for an optical audio setup that uses those connections and needs more reach than a short cable provides. The product name identifies it as an optical audio cable; it isn’t presented here as a general-purpose lead for other kinds of connections. If your planned route is shorter, you can still arrange the connected devices where the cable suits your room, rather than relying on the cable to dictate a close side-by-side layout.
