Radius 5cm MKH50 Nimbus Windshield (24/25) Black Fur
Radius 5cm MKH50 Nimbus Windshield (24/25) Black Fur | Help tame wind noise
Cleaner dialogue in breezy conditions starts with keeping wind off the microphone. The Radius 5cm MKH50 Nimbus Windshield is a fur-covered windshield named for the MKH50 microphone, giving you a dedicated option when wind is getting in the way of a recording. Its black fur forms the visible outer covering; the point of a windshield like this is to soften the effect of moving air before it reaches the mic. That makes it relevant for spoken-word recording where clear, usable dialogue matters more than leaving the microphone exposed. The product name also includes the 24/25 designation, so it’s worth matching that marking to the exact Nimbus version you’re selecting. This isn’t a general-purpose audio accessory: it’s a specifically named Radius windshield for an MKH50 setup. If wind is the problem you’re trying to manage, it gives you a focused piece of kit to consider.
A focused addition to your microphone setup
Think of this as a wind-control accessory, not a change to the microphone’s recording character. For an outdoor interview or a spoken recording near moving air, the practical aim is to reduce wind disturbance so the voice remains easier to work with. Use it when the microphone needs protection from wind; it won’t remove unrelated background sound. The product’s specific MKH50 and 24/25 naming helps distinguish it from a generic furry cover when you’re choosing accessories for a recording setup.
Specialist Note
5cm is the key size in this Radius name, so you’re choosing a specifically identified windshield rather than an unspecified fur cover. I’d consider it for an MKH50 setup when recording speech outdoors or near a draft: the fur-covered Nimbus is intended to help shield the microphone from moving air, which can make dialogue less troubled by wind. The black finish keeps the look straightforward on a mic, while the 24/25 marking gives you a version detail to match when selecting this accessory. It’s a focused solution for wind, not a way to remove other ambient noise, so I’d use it when air movement is the issue you need to address.
