Radius Audio-Technica BP28 Nimbus Windshield
Radius Audio-Technica BP28 Nimbus Windshield | Help keep wind off your recordings
A breeze reaching the microphone can become an unwanted part of a recording. The Radius Audio-Technica BP28 Nimbus Windshield is a microphone accessory named for the Audio-Technica BP28, intended to help manage that problem when air movement reaches the mic. It’s for BP28 owners who want a dedicated windshield for situations where wind may interfere with clear recorded sound. That makes it relevant for outdoor dialogue, location recording or any setup where moving air is a concern. The product name identifies both the microphone model and the Nimbus Windshield, so it’s a specific accessory rather than a general-purpose audio item. Use it as part of your microphone setup when wind is the issue you’re trying to address. A windshield has a focused job: it doesn’t replace careful mic placement or solve unrelated recording problems such as room echo. For BP28 users, this is the Radius option to consider for that particular task.
Specialist Note
Wind hitting the microphone can spoil a take before you’ve had a chance to fix anything in the edit; this windshield is made for that specific nuisance. Its name ties it to the Audio-Technica BP28, so it’s aimed at owners of that microphone rather than being presented as a one-size-fits-all accessory. I’d consider it for outdoor dialogue or location recording where moving air is a concern, and use it as part of the mic setup before recording. One sensible limit: a windshield addresses wind, not echo or other room sound. If wind isn’t part of your recording conditions, you may not need it.
