Revar Cine 138MM/49mm Close Up Donut 5-DIOPTER Set
Revar Cine 138MM/49mm Close Up Donut 5-DIOPTER Set | Bring small details closer
For bringing small subjects into a closer view, the Revar Cine 138MM/49mm Close Up Donut 5-DIOPTER Set is a cine close-up set named for its 5-diopter strength and 138MM/49mm sizing. It’s suited to photographers and filmmakers who want to frame details such as a flower’s centre, a small object or a surface texture more tightly. A close-up diopter can help you focus nearer than you can with a lens on its own, making fine details fill more of the frame. That’s the point of this set: close-focus work, rather than changing the colour or reflections in a scene. The product name also includes “donut”, so it’s a specifically named set rather than just a close-up strength on its own. The title doesn’t identify a particular lens or camera system, so I’d treat the 138MM/49mm figures as important when matching it to your setup. It’s a focused bit of cine kit for deliberate close-up framing, not a general-purpose filter.
Specialist Note
The donut-shaped ring is a useful clue to this set’s physical format: it’s named as part of the kit, alongside the close-up optic, rather than being just a diopter number. I’d keep the 138MM/49mm sizing in view when planning a cine setup, because those figures are central to this particular product and shouldn’t be treated as universal. The 5-diopter strength is the part to consider for close details: it’s aimed at bringing your focus closer, whether you’re framing the grain of a material or filling the shot with a small subject. It suits controlled close-up work. Just bear in mind that a diopter changes focusing distance; it isn’t a substitute for choosing the right framing.
