Revar Cine 138mm / 52mm Close-Up Compression Diopter +2
Revar Cine 138mm / 52mm Close-Up Compression Diopter +2 | Bring close details into focus
For close detail shots that need to fill more of the frame, a diopter makes nearer focusing possible. The Revar Cine 138mm / 52mm Close-Up Compression Diopter +2 is a close-up optical accessory with a +2 strength, intended for cine work where you want to move focus in close rather than rely on a distant subject. It suits filmmakers and camera operators building shots around fine details, small objects or textures. The benefit is a more intimate view of a subject while keeping the shot’s framing in your hands. It’s a specialised tool, though: think close-up scenes, not a general-purpose filter for every setup. The title’s 138mm / 52mm designation is part of the product reference, so keep the full wording to hand when selecting it for a kit. No close-focus distance is given, so plan your framing around the lens and setup you’re using.
Specialist Note
The +2 optical strength is the detail that changes how you can frame a close subject: it brings the focus range nearer, which is useful when a detail needs to carry the shot. I’d consider this for controlled cine work such as a close view of a small object or a surface texture; compose on the detail and adjust focus to suit the subject. The paired 138mm / 52mm designation matters when you’re choosing the exact version, so keep both numbers with the product name rather than relying on a partial search. It’s a focused tool, not one I’d reach for when the scene is mostly at normal working distances.
