SanDisk Ultra 512GB SDXC Memory Card

SanDisk Ultra 512GB SDXC Memory Card | Room for a larger library

When you’re heading out with plenty to photograph, a 512GB memory card gives you room to keep a substantial collection of files together. The SanDisk Ultra 512GB SDXC Memory Card is an SDXC card with 512GB of storage, suited to photographers who want a high-capacity card rather than splitting their files across smaller cards. Its appeal is clear and practical: capacity. The name also tells you the card belongs to SanDisk’s Ultra range. Choose it when your device accepts SDXC cards and you’d rather have a single card with generous storage available. One honest point: capacity is the detail we can confirm here; it doesn’t tell you how quickly the card transfers files or records them. If speed is a deciding factor for your work, don’t base that choice on the 512GB figure alone.

Capacity and card format

SDXC is the format to pay attention to when you’re matching a card to a device. Your camera or other equipment needs to accept SDXC; the card’s large capacity by itself doesn’t establish compatibility. Once that’s a match, 512GB gives you considerable space to work with before you need to make room again. That can be handy for a long day of photography, a trip, or simply keeping a larger set of files on one card. The exact number of photos or amount of video it can hold depends on the files being saved, so it can’t be pinned down from capacity alone. For a straightforward purchase decision, the key facts are the SanDisk Ultra name, SDXC format and 512GB capacity.
