Schneider CFG Radiant Black 1/4 4x5.65
Schneider CFG Radiant Black 1/4 4x5.65 | ND filtration in a rectangular format
In bright conditions, you may want to keep your chosen exposure without changing the look you’re aiming for. The Schneider CFG Radiant Black 1/4 is an ND filter in a 4x5.65 format, giving you a defined filter size and a stated 1/4 strength to work with. It suits filmmakers and camera operators using a 4x5.65 filter setup who want this particular filter in their kit for exposure control. The name also identifies it as Radiant Black, so it’s worth choosing for that specific filter designation rather than treating it as an interchangeable generic ND. The title gives the format and strength clearly; those are the practical details to match to your setup and intended use. If you’re assembling filters for a controlled shoot, this is a straightforward way to add the Schneider CFG Radiant Black 1/4 to the selection.
Specialist Note
Keeping your exposure under control without reaching for a different filter size is the practical problem this one addresses. I’d consider it when you specifically need the Radiant Black designation in a 4x5.65 format; that stated format makes it easier to identify the filter you need for a matching setup. Its 1/4 strength gives you a particular level to select when building a filter choice for a scene, rather than an unspecified strength. It’s suited to operators who already work with this format and know they want this version. For bright-day filming, use it as part of your exposure plan, but don’t assume the 1/4 label alone tells you an exact shutter-speed change.
