Schneider CFG Rhodium FSND 0.3 6.6x6.6
Schneider CFG Rhodium FSND 0.3 6.6x6.6 | Fine control over exposure
Without a neutral density filter, managing bright light usually means changing your aperture or shutter speed. The Schneider CFG Rhodium FSND is made for photographers and cinematographers who want another way to balance exposure while keeping those settings where they need them. It’s particularly useful when a scene is just a little too bright: you can reduce the light reaching the camera rather than immediately changing the look of your image or the motion in a shot. That makes it a practical tool for controlled video exposure, and for still photography where a slower shutter speed or wider aperture is part of the plan. The 0.3 strength is a measured, modest adjustment, rather than a heavy cut in light. If your work calls for restrained exposure control and repeatable settings, this is the sort of filter to consider.
Specialist Note
At 1/50 sec in daylight, I’d use the 0.3 density when you need to cut the light by one stop but want to keep that shutter time; it can let you open the aperture by one stop instead. That’s a small, useful adjustment for holding a consistent motion feel in video without making a large exposure change. The 6.6 × 6.6 format suits a setup already built around that square filter size, so it’s worth thinking of it as part of a matching filter workflow. It’ll suit film crews and stills photographers who value measured control. One stop is deliberately modest, so it won’t replace a stronger ND when the light is very bright.
