Schneider-Kreuznach MPTV 82mm HLYWD BLK Magic® 1
Schneider-Kreuznach MPTV 82mm HLYWD BLK Magic® 1 | Control reflections in bright scenes
Schneider-Kreuznach MPTV 82mm HLYWD BLK Magic® 1 is an 82 mm polarizing filter for photographers who want to manage reflections in a scene. It suits landscape and travel photographers working with reflective water, glass or bright skies, as well as anyone who wants more control over glare in a carefully composed shot. By turning a polarizing filter while viewing the scene, you can adjust how strongly it affects reflections; the result depends on the light and your angle to the subject. That makes it a hands-on tool rather than a fixed look you apply the same way to every frame. The 82 mm size is the key fitting detail: it’s intended for a lens with a matching 82 mm filter thread. The HLYWD BLK Magic® 1 name identifies this particular Schneider-Kreuznach MPTV filter. If reflection control is your aim, this is the detail to keep in mind when choosing a filter for your lens.
Specialist Note
Photographers who frame water, shop windows or other reflective surfaces are the people I’d talk through this filter with first. The 82 mm size is practical only when it matches the lens’s filter thread, so I’d verify that measurement before planning a setup. In use, turn the polarizer while watching the reflection in your viewfinder or screen; stop when the glare is reduced to the level you want, rather than assuming it should disappear completely. The HLYWD BLK Magic® 1 wording is the product’s specific designation, so keep the full name to hand when asking for this exact filter. One honest limitation: the effect depends on the scene and your shooting angle, so it won’t change every reflection equally.
