Schneider-Kreuznach MPTV HLYWD BLK Magic 1 4x4
Schneider-Kreuznach MPTV HLYWD BLK Magic 1 4x4 | A clearly specified filter for planned setups
A filter brief can become needlessly uncertain when the product name and format aren’t carried through from the shot list. This Schneider-Kreuznach MPTV HLYWD BLK Magic 1 is identified as a 4x4 filter, giving you a precisely named option when a setup calls for that format and designation. It suits camera crews, rental departments and image-makers working from a detailed filter list, particularly when keeping equipment choices clear between preparation and filming matters. The useful point here is specificity: “HLYWD BLK Magic 1” identifies the requested variant, while “4x4” identifies the format to match in your workflow. Keep the full product name with your equipment notes so the same choice is easy to communicate across prep and production. It’s a considered purchase for a defined requirement, rather than a filter to select by guesswork.
Choosing the named variant
When a production brief specifies a particular filter, consistent naming helps prevent confusion as the list moves between departments. Keep the designation together in your prep documents and kit records, rather than reducing it to a vague description. That way, the intended item is easier to identify when planning a setup or checking equipment against the production notes.
Specialist Note
I’ll be candid: I wouldn’t choose this from its name alone if you’re trying to achieve a particular image effect. It makes more sense when the job already calls for this exact Schneider-Kreuznach designation. The 4x4 format gives you a clear match point for a 4x4 filter workflow; include it in the prep notes so the format stays clear through to the shoot. “Magic 1” is also part of the specific variant name, so I’d keep that wording intact on the equipment list rather than shortening it. It suits crews working from a defined filter specification, especially when accurate kit identification matters across planned setups.
