Schneider-Kreuznach MPTV HLYWD BLK Magic 1 77mm
Schneider-Kreuznach MPTV HLYWD BLK Magic 1 77mm | A clearly named 77mm filter
Choosing a filter can get confusing when its name and shop category point in different directions. This Schneider-Kreuznach is listed under polarizing filters, while its product name identifies it as HLYWD BLK Magic 1. That distinction matters: the category suggests a polarizing filter, a type used to manage reflections and glare, but the name alone doesn’t explain the exact effect of this model. The title does give you two useful identifiers: the Magic 1 designation and the 77mm size. It suits someone who has already settled on this specific filter name and needs that size for their setup, rather than someone comparing filters by an assumed effect. If you’re searching by the full Schneider-Kreuznach product name, this listing gives you a direct match. Read the designation as part of the product identity, not as a promise of a particular result.
Specialist Note
I’d pause over the naming before choosing this one: HLYWD BLK Magic 1 and the polarizing-filter category don’t tell the same clear story. The reason it can still be the right buy is that the title gives you a precise model designation and a 77mm size to match against the filter thread on your lens. The “Magic 1” wording is useful for identifying the version you’re after, but I wouldn’t treat it as a strength rating without more detail. If you’re buying specifically to manage reflections on glass or water, that’s the use associated with the polarizer category; if the HLYWD BLK name is what you searched for, confirm that this is the intended type first.
