Schneider-Kreuznach MPTV HLYWD BLK Magic 2 77mm
Schneider-Kreuznach MPTV HLYWD BLK Magic 2 77mm | Control reflections in the frame
To quiet reflections on glass or water and bring more definition to a blue sky, a polarizing filter gives you control over how reflected light appears in the frame. The Schneider-Kreuznach MPTV HLYWD BLK Magic 2 77mm is listed as a polarizing filter and has a 77mm size. It suits photographers and video makers using a lens with a matching 77mm filter thread who want to manage reflections while making the picture. Point toward a shop window or pond, then adjust the filter as you watch the reflection change. Your angle to the light matters, so even a small shift in camera position can affect the result. With skies, the effect depends on the sun’s direction and your framing. It’s a considered way to control reflections, rather than a promise of the same result in every scene.
Specialist Note
The 77mm diameter is the detail I’d check first: match it to the filter thread on your lens, so you know it’s the right size for a direct fit. This is the Schneider-Kreuznach MPTV HLYWD BLK Magic 2, so keep that full designation in mind if you want to find the same model again; “Magic 2” is part of its name, not a setting to dial in. For filming through a storefront window or photographing water, I’d turn the filter while watching the reflection and stop when the surface looks right. It suits anyone who wants to manage those reflections in-camera. One honest point: the effect depends on your angle to the light, so it won’t remove every reflection from every position.
