Sigma Filter 72mm Protector LPT-21
Sigma Filter 72mm Protector LPT-21 | A simple layer of lens protection
At a busy market or during a quick change of location, the front of a lens can pick up dust or fingerprints before you notice. The Sigma Filter 72mm Protector LPT-21 is a protection filter designed to sit in front of a lens, adding a barrier during everyday use. Its name gives you the key sizing detail: 72mm. The filter size needs to match the size of the lens, so this is for photographers with a lens that takes a 72mm filter. It’s suited to routine shooting where gear gets handled often, or where you’d like an extra protective surface in front of the lens. This is a straightforward accessory, not a creative-effects filter: its purpose is protection rather than changing the look of a scene. If you prefer to keep the lens front clear of an added filter, it may not be for you. It makes the most sense as a simple accessory to leave in place on a matching lens, rather than something you swap in for a particular visual effect.
Specialist Note
The 72mm diameter is the physical detail that determines fit, so I’d match it to the filter size your lens takes before making this part of your everyday setup. The Protector name tells you its role: it gives the lens front an extra protective surface during routine use, rather than adding an effect to your pictures. I’d use it for casual walks or busy indoor events where gear gets handled, and still fit the lens cap when packing away; a filter isn’t a substitute for a cap in a camera bag. It suits anyone who wants that straightforward layer of protection on a lens with a 72mm filter size.
