SmallHD Acc-Hood-Focus-5 Focus Sun Shade
SmallHD Acc-Hood-Focus-5 Focus Sun Shade | View your monitor more clearly in bright light
Your monitor is easier to judge in bright surroundings when a shade helps keep stray light off its display. The SmallHD Acc-Hood-Focus-5 Focus Sun Shade is a lens-hood accessory for the SmallHD Focus 5, intended to make the screen more comfortable to view when ambient light gets in the way. That can be useful when you’re checking framing or reviewing a shot outdoors, or working near bright studio lighting. It doesn’t change the image on the monitor; its job is to make that image easier to see. This is a focused accessory for people who already use the Focus 5 and want help viewing it in challenging light, rather than a screen upgrade or a way to alter recorded footage. If you spend time judging a shot on the monitor, being able to see the display clearly can make that check less frustrating.
Specialist Note
The SmallHD Acc-Hood-Focus-5 is there to shade the Focus 5 display from distracting ambient light. Its name identifies it as the Focus 5 sun shade, so it makes sense for an operator who wants to keep using that monitor while checking a frame in bright conditions. I’d consider it for outdoor framing checks or a setup beside strong studio lights: use the shade to cut down the light falling across the screen while you review the picture. One practical point: it helps with viewing, not with changing the monitor image or the footage itself. If your Focus 5 is already easy to see in your usual working light, you may have little need for it.
