SmallRig 5958 Hawklock Quick Release Cage Kit For Canon EOS R6 MkIII / R6 MkII | A quicker route to tripod setup

Moving a camera into a tripod setup can interrupt your working rhythm, especially when you want a cage in the mix too. The SmallRig 5958 Hawklock Quick Release Cage Kit is a tripod accessory made for the Canon EOS R6 MkIII and EOS R6 MkII. Its quick-release design is intended to make the changeover more straightforward, while the camera-specific fit keeps the product focused on those two EOS R6 models. It suits photographers and video makers who use one of these cameras and want a cage as part of a tripod-based setup, rather than a general-purpose accessory. It’s most useful when you regularly shift between framing on a tripod and handling the camera away from it. The key point is the combination of a cage kit and quick release: it gives you a defined way to plan that transition, instead of treating the cage and tripod as unrelated parts of your setup.

Specialist Note

For an EOS R6 MkIII-to-tripod setup, I’d look at the Hawklock quick-release approach if you’re trying to keep camera changes from becoming a reset of your whole working rhythm. The kit is also named for the EOS R6 MkII, which makes it relevant if that’s the body you’re building around instead. In practical terms, think of it for a tripod-framed interview or a product shot where you may want to lift the camera away between takes, then return to tripod work. I’d keep its scope in mind: this is a cage kit for those two EOS R6 models, not a general-purpose cage recommendation.
