SmallRig 6073 Square ND Black Mist Filter Kit For iPhone 17 Pro (Blue)
SmallRig 6073 Square ND Black Mist Filter Kit For iPhone 17 Pro (Blue) | Shape daylight and soften highlights
Without a filter, bright daylight can leave you with less control over exposure and crisp, hard-looking highlights. The SmallRig 6073 combines ND and Black Mist filtering in a square kit made for the iPhone 17 Pro, giving phone filmmakers and still photographers two visual effects to work with. ND filtering is useful when you want to manage the light reaching the camera; the Black Mist effect is for a softer rendering of highlights. That makes it a considered option for outdoor video, city scenes with bright lights, or portraits where you want highlights to feel less stark. The square format gives this kit its particular filter style, while the blue finish adds a clear colour accent. It’s best suited to creators who want to shape the look of iPhone 17 Pro footage or images at capture, rather than rely on editing to add softness later. The precise strength of the effects isn’t something to assume: choose it for the ND and Black Mist look, not for a specific exposure change.
Specialist Note
“Will this SmallRig kit help with bright outdoor iPhone video?” Yes: its ND filtering is there to help manage strong light, while the Black Mist treatment gives highlights a softer character. I’d consider it for daylight street clips when you want more control over the image, or for portraits with bright points of light in the background. The square format is part of this kit’s design, and the blue finish makes it visually distinctive; it’s made for the iPhone 17 Pro. One thing to keep in mind is that Black Mist is an intentional look, so it won’t suit every scene if you want highlights to stay crisp and untouched.
