SWIT S-7000U S-7000U | DV Battery Mount Plate For Sony BP-U Type
SWIT S-7000U S-7000U | A dedicated mount for BP-U type batteries
Without a dedicated battery mounting point, you have to work out where the battery belongs in your tripod setup. The SWIT S-7000U is a tripod accessory designed as a DV battery mount plate for Sony BP-U type batteries. It gives videographers using that battery type a specific mounting part to plan around when building a tripod-based setup. That makes it most relevant when you want the battery mounted as part of the rig, rather than treating battery placement as an afterthought. Its purpose is focused: it’s a mounting plate, not a general-purpose tripod accessory. If your video setup uses Sony BP-U type batteries and needs a mounting plate, this is the role the S-7000U is made for. It’s a straightforward piece of kit for organising that part of a camera setup, without adding unrelated functions to the job.
Specialist Note
“Is the S-7000U for mounting a Sony BP-U type battery on a tripod setup?” Yes—that’s exactly its job. I’d look at it when you’re building a tripod-based video rig around a BP-U type DV battery and want a dedicated plate in the setup. For a locked-off interview, for example, decide where the battery will sit as you arrange the rig, then use this plate for that mounting role. The same thinking applies to a fixed event angle, where you can plan the battery position before recording. It’s a focused accessory, so think of it as solving the mounting part of your setup, not as a replacement for the battery itself.
