Thypoch Simera-C 28mm T1.5 FF Prime Cine Lens M-Mount
Thypoch Simera-C 28mm T1.5 FF Prime Cine Lens M-Mount | A fast wide view for filmmaking
For video that needs a wide view with room to work in low light, the Thypoch Simera-C 28mm T1.5 FF Prime Cine Lens M-Mount brings a 28mm focal length and T1.5 maximum aperture to a full-frame Leica M mount. It’s a manual-focus prime for filmmakers and video creators who want to set their framing and focus with intention. The wide-angle view can help place a person within a room or give a moving scene a clear sense of its surroundings, while the bright maximum aperture gives you more scope to work in dimmer settings. Use it for narrative scenes, interiors or documentary-style video where a fixed focal length suits the way you plan to shoot. Its appeal is specific: a wide prime with a fast T-stop, rather than a lens built around zooming between shots.
A considered way to frame a scene
A fixed 28mm focal length encourages you to shape the shot by changing your position, rather than adjusting a zoom. The lens’s stated 75° angle of view gives a useful reference for planning a frame, especially when you’re deciding how much of a location to include. Manual focus also puts focus placement in your hands, which can suit planned shots where you want to guide the viewer’s attention deliberately.
Specialist Note
The Simera-C 28mm gives you a wide frame and a bright T1.5 aperture for scenes where adding light isn’t the first answer. I’d suggest it to filmmakers working on controlled interiors or close-set dialogue: on a full-frame Leica M setup, 28mm can keep some of the room in the picture, while T1.5 gives you more exposure latitude in subdued light. For a quieter scene, set focus manually on your subject and keep the framing steady; that makes the lens’s fixed view an advantage rather than something to keep correcting. One honest trade-off: manual focus asks for your attention, so fast, unpredictable action takes more care.
