Tiffen 44ST2 4x4 Straw 2 Filter
Tiffen 44ST2 4x4 Straw 2 Filter | Add a gentle straw warmth to the scene
On a portrait or a carefully composed shot, colours can feel cooler than the mood you want. The Tiffen 44ST2 4x4 Straw 2 Filter is a colour-effect filter for photographers who want to introduce a warmer, straw-toned look while making the picture. It suits deliberate work with colour, from giving a portrait a warmer feel to adding warmth to a scene where the existing colour feels too cool. The result is an in-camera choice rather than a change made later in editing, so you can assess the look as you compose. It’s best used when that warmer rendering is part of the intention; it isn’t a neutral filter for preserving the scene’s original colour. If you’re shaping the mood of an image with colour, this Tiffen gives you a direct, simple way to do it.
Specialist Note
A scene that feels a little too cool can be frustrating when you want a warmer, more inviting colour. This filter’s Straw 2 designation gives you a defined warm effect to work with, rather than asking you to rely on a later colour adjustment. I’d consider it for portraits when you want skin and the overall image to read warmer, or for a composed scene where a straw cast suits the mood. Its 4x4 format is useful when your setup is built around that square size. Keep in mind that it changes colour rather than preserving a neutral rendering, so it suits an intentional look best.
