Tiffen 6666HZE 6.6x6.6 UV Haze 1
Tiffen 6666HZE 6.6x6.6 UV Haze 1 | Helps reduce UV haze
Distant landscapes can look washed out when ultraviolet haze softens the view. The Tiffen 6666HZE UV Haze 1 is a square filter designed to help limit that effect, making it a considered option for photographers working with outdoor scenes and far-off detail. Its 6.6x6.6 format is intended for square-filter workflows; the size matters when choosing how it will sit in your setup. The UV Haze 1 designation tells you the filter’s purpose, rather than promising to clear every kind of haze. It’s most relevant when you want to address the atmospheric veil that can reduce clarity in a distant view. For landscapes, architecture or other scenes with detail set back from the camera, it can be a practical part of your filter kit. It won’t remove heavy visible haze caused by the weather, so treat it as a specific filter for UV haze, not a general fix for poor visibility.
Choosing the right format
This filter’s square dimensions make the physical format an important part of your decision. Match the 6.6x6.6 size to the square-filter arrangement you use, and consider whether a UV haze filter suits the conditions you’re photographing. Its purpose is specific: help reduce UV haze, rather than change the look of a scene with a creative colour effect.
Specialist Note
There’s a limit to what a UV haze filter can do: it won’t cut through thick mist or make a hazy day look clear. I’d still recommend this Tiffen when your main concern is UV haze in distant outdoor views. The “Haze 1” marking points to that specific role, so it makes sense for landscape frames where far-off ridges or buildings lose definition. The 6.6x6.6 format is the detail to get right for your square-filter setup; matching that size keeps the filter choice grounded in your actual kit. If you often photograph distant scenes, this is a focused option to consider, rather than a cure-all for every atmospheric condition.
