Tiffen DUVOPM14 Fujinon Duvo HZK Pro-Mist 1/4 Rear Filter
Tiffen DUVOPM14 Fujinon Duvo HZK Pro-Mist 1/4 Rear Filter | Gentle highlight glow for a softer image
Bright highlights gain a gentle glow, while the overall image takes on a softer, less crisp look. The Tiffen DUVOPM14 is a 1/4 Pro-Mist rear filter for the Fujinon Duvo HZK, designed for cinematographers who want that character in their footage without choosing a stronger diffusion effect. It’s especially suited to interviews, portraits and scenes with practical lights or other bright sources in frame: those highlights can bloom softly, helping a carefully lit image feel less clinical. The 1/4 strength gives you a restrained starting point, so the effect can add atmosphere without becoming the main event. This is a deliberate look-making filter, not a neutral UV filter for straightforward lens protection. If you’re shaping the image on set or aiming for a softer rendering in a production, it offers a specific creative effect for the named lens.
Specialist Note
The Tiffen DUVOPM14 is for giving Fujinon Duvo HZK footage a gentle Pro-Mist glow. I’d consider it for interviews or portraits where you want bright practical lights to bloom a little and skin to feel less sharply rendered; keeping a highlight in the frame makes the effect easier to see. Its 1/4 strength is a measured choice when you want diffusion to support the image rather than dominate it. The rear-filter design is important: it’s made for the Fujinon Duvo HZK’s rear-filter position, not presented as a front filter. One honest caveat: if you want a very crisp, high-contrast image, this softening effect may not suit the brief.
